The First Grade class had a marketplace unit for Social Studies. They brainstormed the product that they would like to produce and sell.
They looked at advertisements in magazines and commercials to understand how to promote their products and used thesauruses to spice up the words on their advertisements. They also set the price for their product, Sugar Clouds.
They shopped for all the items that they would need to make Sugar Clouds.
They used a factory assembly line to make their treats.
The final product – ready to sell!
They sold the treats at lunch recess and used their math skills to count money and make change.
The first graders are entrepreneurs!
