Saying Goodbye

One of the things that most characterizes International Schools is mobility. It is said that Third Culture Kids (kids who are growing up in a country that is not their parent’s passport country) say more goodbyes in their first 18 years of life than their monocultural peers do in a lifetime.

Last year in our small school we said goodbye to our Interim Director, 3 classroom teachers, and our Library/Office Intern. This year already we have said goodbye to one library volunteer and now today we say goodbye to Mimi our Library Manager.

Goodbyes never get easier, although we do have more opportunities to practice saying good goodbyes. We try to be intentional by having a prayer for the person who is leaving and group hugs and tears are often part of the event.

Mimi leaves a big hole in our staff. We will miss her greatly!

Who do you know who might be interested in serving our community as a classroom teacher, library manager, aide or administrative support?
