December JLS 2020

The whole group (minus a few who were sick)

MK 101

One of our special classes was MK 101. (Missionary Kid) We talked about the unique characteristics of growing up outside of your passport country.

We read lots of books to help illustrate the concepts we were teaching. Mrs. Petersen also shared about her experiences growing up in Cameroon.

One of our favorite activities was having the students “Walk around the Globe” – walking to the continent they lived in when they were that age. It was eye-opening to watch all the moving they have done already at this age.

PE – Softball

Science-

We love to do more hands-on science projects during JLS. Several of our classes studies space this JLS – Here is an experiment we did with a rocket.

4th grade learned about the phases of the moon in a very yummy way!

2-3 grade class – some dressed up as aliens.

The Kindergarten class learned about weather – and enjoyed making a tornado in a bottle.

Make your prediction – will the sun melt these items?

Christmas

And of course, we celebrated Christmas. The Kindergarten class learned about Christmas Poppers – a traditional way to celebrate Christmas in the UK.

We ended JLS with a family Candlelight Carol Service outside.

Merry Christmas everyone!
