Since we are located in a bilingual country, it is important that our students get some exposure to French in a classroom setting so they are prepared when they experience it in their lives outside of school. The students all get French classes twice a week a for at least half an hour.

There are a few new things that are exciting about French this year. First, we get to host the French classes in the library. This means that the space is bigger for the students, and there are different opportunities for learning. This also means that the library staff gets to improve their French skills as well by listening in to the lessons. We also got to attend the country report presentations.

We are also excited to have Madame Westrate teaching the students French this year. This is her first year teaching with us and she is doing her best to make the French that the students are learning as practical as possible. They have been learning greeting that are common here, listening to music they might hear in church, and counting Cameroonian money in order to be prepared while shopping. We are excited to see how much the students learn this year!
