April 2015 Joint Learning Session

On the heels of spring break, all the FES home school students joined with The Greenhouse students for two weeks of classroom teaching during the April Joint Learning Session (JLS), April 13-24, 2015.  The classrooms swelled with students making this the largest JLS in over ten years with 62 students!

Students studied inventors, wars and revolutions, weights and measures, rain forests, simple machines, sound and the ear, and more!

The grade 3-6 students took part in standardized testing on several mornings.  All the students enjoyed the afternoon classes: music class taught by Mr. Chris Gassler and his team of helpers or soccer instruction headed up by Mr. Drew Maust and his team of helpers.

An extra blessing this session was the optional Martial Arts and Ballet lessons taught by Mrs. Sandi Roach.  What a special gift for our students to receive instruction in these sports.  Kids who participated in all the activities had very full days!

At the JLS Closing Program, students demonstrated what they learned in music class and in Martial Arts.  Those in the ballet class performed a short ballet about inventors created by Mrs. Roach.  Well done, everyone!
